I love a deal. Put something “on sale” and I will cling to it like a magnet on a fridge, even if it’s still more than I want to spend. (Loehmann’s was my Happy Place.)
Luckily, when it comes to dining discounts in Paris, you get quality *and* quantity with the lunchtime “formule” — a prix fix where three courses generally don’t cost more than €25.
While this concept isn’t new, and can be found all over the city, the tastiest ones—and certainly the most bang-for-your-buck ones—tend to be far away from tourist sites. They’re the spots you’d walk right by if your neighbor or friend didn’t flag them. Inside, you’re either a local or feel like one.
I’ve written about these deals before, but it’s time for an update. First, a few disclaimers:
Menus are limited, and usually only offer 2 or 3 choices each for appetizer (entrée), main (plat), and dessert — if any choice at all. Picky eaters, or those with dietary restrictions, beware.
Oeufs mimosa (deviled eggs), however, is generally always an app option. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
As mentioned, these spots are not in the thick of things location-wise. Be prepared to go off the beaten path.
Often, there is only ever one person working the floor, so maybe don’t be in a rush. (Though they tend to be aware that most diners will be returning to work.)
Menus are seasonally-minded and change weekly, making these places ideal for both consistency and variation.
Best book ahead. If you don’t reserve, and rock up 15 minutes before closing time, do not expect to be fed. They’re likely already scrubbing down the counters and mopping floors.
After a few months of research, here are *half* the lunch deals I’ve discovered recently and/or return to again and again. Come back in a few weeks for the other half. :) Portion control, friends. Portion control.

I dare you to find a better 3-course lunch in town. No wait: I DOUBLE DARE YOU. Granted, the deal here means that there is no choice. If the menu lists gazpacho for an appetizer, zucchini tagliatelle with black olives for a main, and a passion fruit créme brulée for dessert, that’s what you get. This place gets packed, but surprisingly the service was attentive (guess it’s easier when there are only three things to serve!) and the vibe is generally fun and energetic. Exposed stone walls and plants galore mean it skews young and hip, and house wines are also easy-to-swallow at 5€ a glass.
