Haiku Reviews: Television I Loved in '24
Back at it with my annual short list of series and small-screen films worth the binge.
Short is sweet, says the girl who’s barely 5-foot-one and refuses to wait in queues, which is why I enjoy the three-line, 5-7-5 syllable, Japanese poem for reviewing the content I consume.

Television (and movies made for it) gives us characters, storylines, cinematography, and soundtracks that take us out of ourselves, yet enable us to feel inside ourselves. In all, the facets of a good TV will reverberate for years to come, and often cause us to start—or bring any conversation around to—“OMG are you watching…?” or “Have you watched…?”
This year’s annual list of the series and made-for-streaming movies that wow-ed me features sappy, tear-inducing love, belly-stretching laughter, two series’ that were once movies, a mischievous monkey who lives by the beach, everyone’s favorite “Hot Rabbi,” and more. I left off some returning favorites (such as The Bear and House of the Dragon) except for one I missed the first go-around (that’d be Lioness). So! No more endless scrolling for something to watch for you! You’re welcome. And don’t forget to post your favorites in the comments.
