Despite what I’ve been told was a really believable April Fool’s Day joke, I am not actually moving to San Francisco. I did have an incredible week there, though, and while I only just scratched the surface, I thought I’d share bits of my itinerary in case you’re looking for a little guidance the next time you’re in town. I played tourist pretty hard since I hadn’t been in 15 years, so this is by no mean’s an “expert’s” guide. But I did manage to pack in a lot and left feeling like I did The City, as it’s known—never “San Fran”—proud.
I stayed in the Marina area thanks to a very generous new friend who lent me her sunny and spacious apartment so I don’t have any hotel recs for you. Neighborhood-wise, it’s quiet, residential, close to the Bay, Fisherman’s Wharf, as well as walking distance to Pacific Heights, which despite being at the top of many hills is another really charming area to declare as a home base given the views and tons of cute shops and restaurants. Without further ado, here’s my San Francisco Hit List!
